The Arthritis Ideator Awards by The Arthritis Society

Hello Rheum-Mates and Followers!

If you follow The Arthritis Society you may already know about their Ideator Awards. If you don’t, it’s kind of a neat Dragon’s Den style competition they are doing for programs that help Canadians fight the fire of arthritis. They’ve announced the 8 finalists and 4 of them are up for $50,000 to go towards their programs. One winner will be selected as The People’s Choice Award and this is where I am hoping to win you all over.

Please take a look at them and vote for your favorite who you want to win the People’s Choice Award.

However, full disclosure my vote went to OPERAS as it really did change the way I live with RA and I was heavily involved in the development of the program, but please make your own opinion for the vote.

The program OPERAS arthritis self-care tool created by Dr Linda Li at Arthritis Research Canada and The University of British Columbia . OPERAS (On-demand Program to EmpoweR Active Self-management) is an easy-to-use web/mobile app designed for people with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) to track their health. This app helps people to “see” how their symptoms and physical activity levels change over time, together with the treatment they use.

I want to see it advance more, open up to other forms of arthritis and help others.

I’ve written about my experience with OPERAS on both Healthline and Creaky Joints. You can also read about it on my blog, I’ve written about it three times because it really did change the way I live with this difficult disease.

I am asking you to vote and share with your network if comfortable. It does ask for your name and email however it will not send you emails unless you select “yes send me emails” so don’t worry about spam mail. They only want to verify you are not a bot.

Happy voting! Voting is open through 11:59 PM on Monday, April 18th

And if anyone wants to know my vote for the four that should win:

  • FRIID
  • RHEUMVISION
  • OPERAS
  • GUIDED HAND
