I was recently sent a package of products from KaLaya to check out for my rheumatoid arthritis. Having heard about the product before I was excited to try it out. I can see why I’ve seen their name around. They are really great products and Canadian!. They are available both in Canada and the US.
I was sent the following products:
KaLaya 6x Extra Strength Pain Relief Cream and KaLaya 6x Extra Strength Pain Relief Cream with Massager Application – The same product but different application methods. I particularly liked the massage applicator because it has a cooling sensation which is great for hot inflamed joints. I also do not need to use and only focus on spots that the cream is needed. Sometimes when our hands are hurting from arthritis, even rubbing on cream can be painful, so I loved the massager applicator.The 6 active ingredients in KaLaya 6x Extra Strength:
Arnica – This herb has been used for centuries to reduce swelling, inflammation, and alleviate pain.
Wintergreen – Works by reducing inflammation and increasing blood flow to the affected areas
Eucalyptus – The essential oil of eucalyptus has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.

KaLaya Extra Strength Pain Relief Spray With Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil and KaLaya Extra Strength Pain Relief With Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Creme Format 60g – The difference between this and the 6x pain relief is the Cannabis Sativa seed oil is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids. This one also does not have as stronger a menthol smell or sensation as the back and neck spray or 6x cream.
The cannabis sativa spray contains Methyl Salicylate 25%, Camphor 10%, Menthol 8%, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil 3%.
KaLaya Cooling Pain Relief Spray For Back & Neck, Extra Strength
This one is designed to target back, neck & shoulder pain at the source with over 50% active medicinal ingredients for long-lasting deep tissue relief and it actually does what it say it will do. This is definitely one of my favourite products that KaLaya sent me to try out. I found more pain relief in this one compared to the Sativa Seed Oil Spray. I also do not just use it on my back, I get really painful burning feet and ankles with my RA and love the extra strength ingredients in this product for those times.

Esthetician Background – Before being placed on long term disability with my diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis I I went to school and worked as an esthetician for a decade. Skincare has always been a passion of mine and I can spot a quality product pretty fast. When it comes to texture, smell, residue, ingredients and application – this is a fantastic product line and it’s natural!
The Ingredients Stick Out To Me – When I look for pain relief products I look for products with arnica, menthol, camphor and msm because of their proven benefits by research and my lived experience. The ingredients benefit different types of pain too, so whether you have arthritis, or muscle strains or a bruise, as long as the skin isn’t open then this product can help your pain. These products are also safe to use on children 2 and up, so I like having something around for when my son hurts himself because children are good at that.
Affordable and Accessible- As someone on disability I find their prices to be incredibly fair, appropriate and when I run out of what they sent me, I would definitely buy their products again. After doing a google search – I wouldn’t have any problem finding their products as they are available through their official website with free shipping on orders over $60 (about 2-3 products) or you can also buy them on Amazon, at London Drugs, Walmart, Rexall and many other popular Canadian stores, even Home Hardware and Instacart has their products.
It Works Really Fast – Like within minutes and it lasts. I find it lasts longer than CBD topicals or Voltaren. However I am a fan of layering different products for even greater pain relief. So I would also layer with a lidocaine or diclofenac product topical for maximum results.
Zero Weird Sticky Residue Left After – Compared to Voltaren or many other topical products I have tried over the years many leave a weird feeling on the skin after use, this product doesn’t.
It’s Popular – I know a lot of people in pain through my community – whenever I posted these products quite a few people I know commented how much they love their products too. This shows me they are a popular pain relief brand. I even showed my Dad, who’s been dealing with painful osteoarthritis at 73 and he went out and bought his own bottle of the 6x Pain Relief Cream With Massage Applicator.
Has Menthol – I both love and hate this because of the relief that the ingredient can bring to us but it is a very strong odor. I personally love anything mint smelling, however I don’t really want to smell like menthol out in public. Therefore I do not recommend this product if you are not a fan of menthol but if you are a fan, definitely check it out! I stick mainly to using it at home because of the strong aroma, though it is a very pleasant menthol aroma, I don’t like announcing to the world I am in pain through smell. I really do wish a topical relief product company would make something odorless or with an aroma I’d want to wear in public.
They’ve Become A Go To When It Gets Bad
I recently tore a muscle in my already bad shoulder and as my physiotherapist said, I have a lot going on in my body, so I will really feel that tear. I found relief in using this product and appreciated that the ingredients in it are designed to help reduce inflammation.
